The situation
Platforms financing trade receivables and commodity flows, each seeking facilities to scale a book that turns over rapidly and is secured against underlying trade documents rather than against a balance sheet.
The constraint
Receivables lending is priced on the quality of the underlying obligor, not the borrower — which means the diligence burden falls on data the platform holds about its customers' customers. Most platforms at this stage have that data. Very few have it in a form a credit committee can test.
What Zenith built
Facility structuring appropriate to a short-duration self-liquidating asset, eligibility and concentration frameworks, and lender engagement across banks and specialty credit funds with trade finance appetite.
The transferable point
In receivables lending, data hygiene is the credit story. The book can be excellent and still be unfundable if the platform can't evidence it in the form a credit committee tests.
